What Is Everpure Kleensteam?
Kleensteam is a complete water treatment package for commercial steam applications. Pentair describes the Kleensteam II as its second generation of total water treatment for steam, with filtration, scale inhibition and deliming in one assembly.

Pentair says the SS-10 cartridge is more effective where alkalinity, hardness, dissolved solids or temperature are higher. No electrical connection is needed.
Why Kuwait Water Scales Steam Equipment
Kuwait has no rivers and very little fresh groundwater, so its drinking water comes from desalination. Desalinated water is very low in dissolved salts, so it is mixed with brackish groundwater before it is piped to buildings, to meet World Health Organization guidelines (Fanack Water). That blend puts calcium, magnesium and other minerals back into the supply, and the amount can shift between districts and through the year.
A glass of that water may taste fine. Inside a steamer, it behaves differently. The water boils off, the minerals stay, and the concentration in the steam generator rises with every cycle. The result is a hard crust on elements and probes. A building's storage tanks and pipework can add sediment on the way to the kitchen too.

What Scale Costs a Busy Kitchen
Scale insulates a heating element. The element runs hotter and longer for the same output, which raises energy use and shortens its life. In steam generators and combi ovens, scale also coats level probes and blocks steam outlets. The first signs are usually longer cook times, uneven results and fault codes, well before a part fails.
Then there is descaling. Manual deliming takes the equipment out of service, ties up staff or a technician, and uses acid descalers. In a hotel banqueting kitchen or a central production unit running steam from early morning, an oven out of service is lost output. Preventing scale at the inlet is almost always cheaper than removing it later.

The Kleensteam II Single ships with one 7CB5 cartridge and a plug in its second filter head. Adding a second 7CB5 takes it to the dual-cartridge rating of 18.9 litres per minute, so a kitchen that plans to add equipment can grow into it. Pentair is clear that service flow must not go above the rated figure. Going over it cuts both filtration and scale protection.

The 38°C inlet limit matters in Kuwait. In summer, water from a rooftop tank or a pipe run through a hot ceiling void can arrive warm, so our site survey checks the feed temperature at the planned install point. The wall also has to carry the full operating weight, and the cartridges need room below for changeouts.

When Kleensteam Needs Help
Kleensteam is designed for feed water within its 2 to 12 grains per gallon alkalinity range. Where the water is outside that range, or very hard or high in dissolved solids, an upstream stage protects both the cartridges and the equipment.
